Role overview
This opportunity is for a Vice President of Finance, North America within a fast-growing industrial division of a global manufacturing organization. The position is based in the Greater Chicago Area and reports to the President, Americas. It will oversee a geographically distributed team made up of people managers and individual contributors across North American locations.
The role is designed for a transformational finance leader who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution. The ideal person will help strengthen financial and operational performance while serving as a key partner to division leadership during an ambitious global expansion journey.
There is also significant long-term growth potential, both within the division and across the wider organization as it continues to expand into multiple sectors.
What the role involves
The finance leader will act as a trusted advisor to the President on major growth initiatives, including both organic expansion and acquisitions or other inorganic opportunities. The position calls for someone comfortable coaching teams, working closely with business partners, and stepping in directly to solve problems when needed.
This is a high-visibility leadership position for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to influence business direction at a strategic level.
Qualifications and background
A bachelor’s degree is required, with an MBA preferred. The preferred academic background includes Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field.
The role calls for at least 10 years of experience in a global organization, with exposure to both operational finance and corporate finance. Prior experience leading teams is important, along with a strong understanding of P&L management and a lean, efficiency-focused mindset.
