Overview

This leadership position, based in the United States, provides an opportunity to develop and implement a worldwide commercial strategy within a strictly regulated pharmaceutical services setting. The role entails directing revenue generation efforts, nurturing key client partnerships, and enhancing commercial operations globally. Collaborating closely with senior management, you will ensure that commercial goals align with operational capabilities, regulatory compliance, and long-range business targets. This hands-on executive role oversees global marketing, business development, account management, and commercial operations while promoting digital advancements to improve customer experiences and build an effective commercial team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Craft and implement a multi-year global commercial strategy that supports sustainable revenue growth, profitability, and market expansion across diverse regions and customer groups.
  • Lead and foster development of global commercial departments, including marketing, business development, account management, operations, and strategic alliances to optimize overall performance.
  • Develop and refine pricing models, governance structures, value-based sales approaches, forecasting practices, and opportunity management to enhance commercial efficiency and financial results.
  • Establish and nurture enduring relationships with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and distribution partners; expand major accounts and discover new avenues for growth.
  • Oversee commercial due diligence and integration for mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships ensuring smooth client transitions and realization of revenue benefits.
  • Drive digital transformation through CRM optimization, use of AI in forecasting, advanced analytics, standardizing commercial workflows, and governance of data processes.
  • Promote a customer-focused operating culture by incorporating customer insights into strategic planning and encouraging cross-functional cooperation among commercial, operational, quality, regulatory, and other teams.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-achieving global commercial team while implementing succession plans, sales performance frameworks, and leadership growth programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or equivalent preferred.
  • At least 20 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 10 years in senior commercial leadership roles covering sales, marketing, or business development.
  • Extensive executive leadership background in pharmaceutical services, contract development and manufacturing organizations (CDMO), life sciences, healthcare manufacturing, or similar regulated industries.
  • Strong proficiency in commercial strategy formulation, global market approaches, pricing, contract negotiation, and strategic account management.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulated healthcare environments, including FDA regulations, supply agreements, technology transfer, lifecycle management, and commercial manufacturing.
  • Proven capability to lead international teams, influence executives and boards, and manage complex cross-functional global initiatives.
  • Experience spearheading digital commercial transformations including CRM enhancement, forecasting, analytics, and process standardization.
  • Exceptional skills in communication, strategic planning, negotiation, leadership, and talent development to motivate high-performing teams.
  • Availability to travel internationally up to 40% as required by business needs.
