Key Features of the Position
- Chance to design and expand therapy programs in one of the nation’s most intricate healthcare networks.
- Directly influence veteran patient outcomes via non-drug treatment modalities.
- High autonomy complemented by visibility from executive and sales leadership.
- Clear advancement path toward regional or national leadership roles within the VA system.
Primary Responsibilities
- Forge and nurture strategic partnerships with VA clinical teams, service line leaders, prosthetics departments, and administrators.
- Act as the lead contact for therapy adoption, reimbursement navigation, and sustaining programs long-term at assigned VA sites.
- Deliver expert clinical and product education through comprehensive training, demonstrations, and ongoing support.
- Establish subject matter expertise in therapy indications, best practices, documentation, coding, VA medical center policies, and patient access routes.
- Increase therapy utilization and prosthetics orders measurably across designated VA locations.
- Help meet growth goals via broadening patient engagement, encouraging new prescribing providers, and standardizing referral processes.
- Support facility-level and regional expansion, including onboarding new VA medical centers and VISN initiatives.
- Achieve and surpass organizational payor growth targets for the VA by 2026, contributing to revenue, market share, and sustainability within federal healthcare.
- Function as a sales-focused, results-driven position, with performance evaluated by therapy usage growth, order volume, provider adoption, and facility expansion.
- Analyze current clinical and administrative VA workflows to identify challenges and improvement possibilities.
- Collaborate with clinical and prosthetics teams to refine processes consistent with VA policies and payer standards.
- Ensure therapy programs are aligned with VA reimbursement models, prosthetics service expectations, and medical necessity documentation rules.
- Translate evolving regulations, payer updates, and organizational priorities into actionable field activities.
- Monitor usage trends, barriers, and growth avenues across assigned sites, providing insight and forecasts to sales leadership.
- Support multi-site growth throughout the VA network, including community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs) and VISN projects once mature.
- Work cross-functionally with government accounts, contracting, reimbursement, and marketing to enhance growth.
- Adapt responsibilities, geographic scope, and assigned facilities as business needs change.
- Undertake local and regional travel to VA facilities and related clinics as necessary.

- Proven communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Capacity for independent, strategic operation in complex healthcare environments.
- Knowledge or experience with rehabilitation, pain management, or prosthetics teams is advantageous.
- Prior VA experience or existing VA relationships are a plus but not mandatory.
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of three years in healthcare, medical device, or clinical field roles is desirable.
