About the Organization
The Association of Black Cardiologists, Inc. (ABC) is a nonprofit entity founded in 1974, with over 2,500 members including health professionals, advocates, corporate partners, and institutions. ABC focuses on eliminating cardiovascular health disparities among people of color while promoting overall health equity. Fully accredited by the ACCME, the organization operates across the U.S. through strong public and private partnerships, guided by principles such as accessibility, affordability, advocacy, diversity, ethics, and excellence in training. ABC envisions a future free from cardiovascular disease as a leading cause of death.
Role Overview
This full-time position (40 hours per week) is remote-based, with a preference for candidates residing in Mississippi (MS), Arkansas (AR), Georgia (GA), or Louisiana (LA). The Project Manager will function as the key liaison between ABC and community partner organizations involved in a regional heart health campaign, reporting directly to the SVP of Education. The salary range offered is $80,000 to $100,000 annually.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and engage community-based organizations aligned with campaign objectives.
- Build strong, ongoing relationships with community, healthcare organizations, and local stakeholders.
- Organize and oversee a coalition of partner organizations.
- Act as the central point of communication between partners and ABC.
- Develop, coordinate, and manage Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) ensuring their completion and proper maintenance.
- Monitor partner engagement and ensure adherence to agreed expectations and deliverables.
- Distribute educational content, campaign materials, and outreach tools to partners promptly.
- Facilitate partner communications, updates, and engagement initiatives.
- Assist with community outreach events, educational activities, and campaign activations.
- Track and document partner activities, participation, and required reports.
- Maintain organized records relating to partnerships and campaign outreach.
- Provide partnership summaries and updates to organizational leadership and funders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant disciplines such as public health, communications, nonprofit management, social work, or community health.
- At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in community engagement, partnership management, or public health outreach.
- Proven skills in establishing and managing partnerships with community organizations.
- Strong organizational aptitude and relationship management capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and deadlines effectively.
Preferred Experience
- Background in public health campaigns or health equity work.
- Familiarity with contract negotiations or MOU management.
- Experience supporting programs funded by grants.
- Awareness of cardiovascular, maternal, or rural health issues.
