Role overview
Bloomberg is seeking a technical support professional in Singapore to assist both new and existing clients. This position sits within the Sales and Client Service business area and focuses on helping customers connect to Bloomberg services, maintain stable access, and resolve product and network-related issues.
The role involves partnering with Sales and multiple internal teams to deliver smooth onboarding and ongoing support for Bloomberg Terminal clients. You will also work with telecom providers, vendors, and other stakeholders to keep service quality high and to support the infrastructure behind Bloomberg’s products.
This is a fast-moving role suited to someone who communicates clearly, stays organized under pressure, and enjoys combining technical problem-solving with project coordination in the context of global financial markets.
Key responsibilities
- Handle technical questions and issues related to Bloomberg Terminal software, hardware products, and network connectivity.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify, manage, and resolve service disruptions.
- Coordinate terminal installations and support ongoing customer connectivity to Bloomberg’s network.
- Partner with clients to recommend hardware and network improvements that can enhance their Bloomberg experience.
- Manage several parallel projects and align with stakeholders to deliver work on time while maintaining service standards.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in technical support, working with internal or external clients.
- Practical experience in more than one of the following areas: networking technologies such as TCP/IP, UDP, RIP v2, and BGP; network topology; PC hardware; operating systems such as Linux, Windows, and Mac OS; and software tools such as MS Office.
- Professional fluency in either Bahasa Indonesia or Thai, with the ability to support clients in that language across Southeast Asia.
- Strong English presentation and communication skills.
- Evidence of steady career progression within an organization.
- A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and projects in a high-volume environment.
- Proven experience working with several teams to meet deadlines.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends, with time off in lieu.
Additional qualifications preferred
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, NET+, or CCNA.
- Background in telecommunications lines, basic network design, and security.
- Exposure to FIX protocol.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Hands-on experience setting up and troubleshooting virtual environments such as VMware or Citrix.
- Ability to communicate effectively and negotiate solutions in difficult situations.
- Quick ability to learn new technologies and concepts.
