Role overview
Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting for five Undergraduate Clinical Teaching Fellow posts, with three based at Frimley Park Hospital and two at Wexham Park Hospital. These are whole-time equivalent, jointly funded roles through the Medical Education Department and the Directorate of Clinical Education.
The position is structured as 0.8 WTE, which equals four days each week in the Medical Education Department undertaking Clinical Teaching Fellow responsibilities, including education-related projects. The remaining 0.2 WTE, or one day per week, will be spent in a subspecialty area.
A limited study leave allowance is provided, along with support toward a medical education qualification.
Main duties and working pattern
The proposed weekly timetable may be adjusted by agreement and can be adapted to include regional subspecialty training where suitable.

- Tuesday: Sub-specialty
- Wednesday: Clinical Education
- Thursday: Clinical Education
- Friday: Clinical Education
You will be assigned a mentor for the duration of the post, with regular review meetings to support your development as an educator.
You will also stay in regular contact with the teaching unit leads to receive information about sessions and feedback on student engagement.
In addition, you will communicate regularly by email or in person with the Strategic Lead for Medical Education across sites regarding absences such as leave, illness, study leave, and any expenses related to the fellow role.

Qualifications and experience
Essential requirements include a first medical degree, GMC registration, evidence of recent continuing professional development, 24 months of NHS experience, computer literacy, and experience delivering teaching or education.
Desirable qualifications and experience include higher specialty qualifications, distinctions, honours or prizes, a postgraduate medical education qualification, and experience acting as faculty in simulation sessions.
Skills and attributes
The role calls for a clear understanding of what makes an effective teacher, strong organisation and time management, sound basic clinical skills, commitment to quality in education, excellent interpersonal ability, strong written and spoken communication, and confidence as a public speaker.

Special requirements
You must be able to work flexible shifts, including weekends and bank holidays where required.
Additional information
This is a joint position funded by the Medical Education Department and the Directorate of Clinical Education. The post is a full-time equivalent arrangement split between education and subspecialty work. The job plan may change by mutual agreement.
