Job description

Your Opportunity

This role suits someone who wants a career that is both demanding and rewarding, and who is keen to pass on practical industry knowledge to the next generation. As a TAFE Teacher, you will share your experience and qualifications with students through classroom teaching, online delivery, and workplace-based learning, helping learners from different backgrounds build the skills they need for work and future success.

The Role

There are two temporary full-time vacancies in the Electrical Educational Delivery team at TAFE Queensland’s Alexandra Hills Campus, with the assignment running until 30 June 2027 unless ended earlier or otherwise changed. In this position, you will contribute to the development of future electrical industry professionals and teach in classroom and other educational environments. The role reports to the relevant Business Manager.

To work as a TAFE Queensland teacher, you must also already have, or be willing to obtain, an adult education qualification. The preferred qualification is TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or an equivalent.

Teaching experience is not essential, as the right candidate may be supported through coaching, mentoring, and partnership. Strong qualifications, relevant industry background, and the right attitude are considered more important. Qualifications and proof of current industry currency and experience must be shown at interview.

How to Apply

Applicants are asked to submit a detailed resume with contact details for two referees, including one current supervisor, plus a cover letter of up to two pages. The cover letter should explain your relevant skills, abilities, knowledge, experience in vocational education and training, your interest in the role, and what you would contribute against the assessment criteria in the role description.
