Job description

Role Overview

Fabindia Limited is hiring a Turnkey PD Merchandiser for its Head Office in Faridabad, Haryana. This position is suited to someone with solid experience in merchandising, sampling, and product development, especially within furniture or related manufacturing workflows.

Experience and Education

The role calls for 8 to 10 years of relevant experience. A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Production, Furniture Design, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications in Production Planning, Quality Management, or Supply Chain Management will be considered an added advantage.

Production Planning and Monitoring

  • Organize product information and handle SKU and purchase order creation.
  • Raise orders with the supply chain or DP vendor once orders are confirmed.
  • Work directly with vendors on costing discussions and technical closures aligned to each project.
  • Monitor production on a daily basis and remove bottlenecks so orders are completed on time.
  • Coordinate all pre-production sign-offs, including swatches, CADs, renderings, fabric, and other inputs, and route them from vendors to the project head.
  • Follow production T&A calendars closely and maintain regular vendor follow-ups.
  • Oversee shop-floor production activity.
  • Make sure product specifications, quality standards, and customer expectations are consistently met.
  • Track fabric movement across vendors.

Supply Chain and Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Coordinate with PH, SCM, Quality, and other internal teams to ensure smooth execution of orders.
  • Support clear communication between stakeholders to help achieve business goals.
  • Liaise with third-party quality teams for large orders when required.

Logistics and Documentation

  • Work with the warehouse and vendors to plan dispatch and delivery.
  • Check and validate documents required for billing and GRN processing.
  • Monitor logistics activity and resolve issues related to delivery.

Reporting and Analysis

  • Maintain production trackers and vendor performance reports.
  • Prepare and submit product images for approval and presentation decks for client review.

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies

  • 8 to 10 years of exposure to merchandising, sampling, and product development.
  • Working knowledge of Fabindia products.
  • Experience in vendor handling and production management.
  • Understanding of merchandising, costing, and MIS reporting.
  • Technical capability with a strong grasp of furniture manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of production planning, quality control, and supply chain operations.
  • Good command over Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Analytical thinking and effective problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and a focus on execution quality.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-moving environment and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
