Travel Nurse RN - ICU Unit in Portsmouth, NH

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. This part-time travel nursing position involves working 36 hours per week with 12-hour night shifts. Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough assessments and continuous monitoring of critically ill patients to detect subtle changes in their conditions.
• Administer advanced medications and treatment plans following approved critical care protocols.
• Operate specialized life support equipment for patient care in the ICU.
• Maintain patient comfort and safety by addressing physical and emotional needs effectively.
• Document critical patient information accurately and promptly to ensure continuity of care and adherence to regulatory standards.
• Conduct and interpret hemodynamic monitoring including arterial lines and pulmonary artery catheters.
• Educate patients and their families about ICU procedures, treatments, and recovery processes.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Participate in ongoing professional education to maintain and improve critical care skills.
• Adhere strictly to infection control procedures to protect vulnerable patients and comply with hospital safety guidelines.
• Engage in quality improvement activities to enhance ICU patient care and operational efficiency.
• Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope of practice.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum of one year recent ICU nursing experience.
• Valid Registered Nurse license compliant with state regulations.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications from recognized bodies.
• Preferred: Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN), TNCC, NIHSS certifications or other relevant credentials.
• Proficient in English communication, reading, and writing.
• Strong physical ability to assist with procedures, including moving equipment up to 100 lbs, and maintaining physical position as required.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse team and under varying supervision levels.
• Excellent critical thinking, interpersonal, and technical skills relevant to ICU care.
