Job Overview
Fusion Medical Staffing is offering a 13-week travel assignment for a Radiology Technologist in Lake Charles, Louisiana. This position involves working 40 hours weekly across 8-hour daytime shifts. The role requires specialized radiologic imaging skills to assist physicians in diagnostic processes while ensuring patient safety and maintaining equipment standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Inform and comfort patients regarding imaging procedures and answer their queries.
- Operate sophisticated radiologic machinery to produce clear diagnostic images in line with physicians' prescriptions.
- Perform routine maintenance and sterilization of imaging equipment and procedure rooms.
- Assess image quality and communicate initial findings to medical teams.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate necessary repairs.
- Accurately document all technical and procedural details within patient health records.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols including infection control and radiation safety.
- Carry out additional related duties as needed within the scope of radiologic practice.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum one year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Valid Radiologic Technologist or Radiography license compliant with state laws.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from recognized agencies such as AHA or ARC.
- Preferably hold ARRT certification; other certifications may be applicable based on role requirements.
Essential Skills
- Strong critical thinking and excellent interpersonal communication abilities.
- Fluent English language skills for reading, writing, and speaking.
- Competent in following complex instructions and proficient computer operation.
- Physical capability to stand for long periods, move equipment up to 100 pounds, and perform bending and twisting.
- Proven ability to collaborate with diverse professional and support staff while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Manual dexterity for precise handling of imaging equipment during procedures.
- Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations and adhere to detailed protocols.
- Acute visual acuity and clear communication skills essential for patient interaction and team coordination.
