About the Role and Organisation
Transport for NSW is committed to providing a safe and efficient transport system connecting communities across New South Wales. As part of their projects team, they are hiring Tow Truck Attendants based in Rozelle, NSW. This permanent full-time role involves working on-site to support incident responses and maintaining traffic safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide prompt incident response on road networks alongside Tow Truck Drivers to assist motorists and restore normal traffic conditions safely and efficiently.
- Perform traffic control duties, including supporting lane closures, work zones, and debris removal with emphasis on adhering to safety and operational procedures.
- Conduct vehicle safety inspections and handle manual tasks such as refuelling vehicles, operating power tools, and aiding heavy tow and recovery operations.
- Troubleshoot routine operational issues using established protocols and collaborate with supervisors to resolve more complex problems minimizing risks and achieving desired outcomes.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Must hold a current, unrestricted NSW driver’s licence.
- Traffic Control accreditations like Implement Traffic Control Plans and Prepare Work Zones are advantageous but not mandatory.
- Possession of a current First Aid Certificate is preferred though not essential.
- Must be prepared to undergo any necessary licensing, training, or certification as required.
- Ability to work a flexible 24-hour rotating roster including shifts during late nights, early mornings, weekends, public holidays, and occasional extended hours at short notice.
- Should be safety-oriented with a strong work ethic, integrity, high adaptability, and able to work independently or as part of a team in high-pressure environments.

- There are three ongoing full-time openings at the Rozelle location.
