Role overview
In this onsite role at a Pearson Professional Centre in Singapore, you will help deliver a secure, efficient, and professional exam experience for test candidates. The position calls for a service-oriented professional who can work within strict procedures, uphold test integrity, and remain composed in a structured environment with flexible scheduling, including weekends.
Test centre operations
- Check that all computers, testing stations, and related equipment are working properly and that no prohibited materials are present.
- Oversee daily system activity, including downloading exams and uploading completed test results.
- Work with technical support teams to quickly investigate and fix operational or system issues.
- Keep the testing area tidy, organised, and fully aligned with centre standards.
Candidate service and exam support
- Review daily test schedules and make arrangements for candidates who need special accommodations.
- Welcome candidates, confirm identity documents, and explain the testing process in a clear way.
- Guide candidates through check-in, secure personal items, and initiate the testing session.
- Observe exams to ensure policy compliance and respond to questions before the timed portion begins.
- Document, escalate, and log any incidents, irregularities, or inconsistencies accurately.
- Print and hand out results after exam completion.
Quality, security, and improvement
- Follow Pearson Professional Centre rules for security, quality, and exam integrity without exception.
- Look for practical ways to improve processes, procedures, and the overall candidate experience, and share suggestions with the team.
Skills and experience
- You should bring strong attention to detail and a customer-first approach.
- Clear written and spoken communication is important for this role.
- You need good judgment, problem-solving ability, and strong organisational skills.
- Professional integrity and high ethical standards are essential.
- At least 1 year of customer service experience is required.
- Experience in a testing centre or other regulated environment is preferred.
- You should be comfortable using Microsoft Office, Windows applications, and standard office equipment.
- The role requires the ability to work independently, prioritise competing tasks, and stay focused under moderate pressure.
Certification and work schedule
- Completion of Pearson Professional Centres Test Administrator certification is mandatory.
- Annual recertification must be maintained successfully.
- This is an onsite position in a quiet, secure testing environment.
- You must be available to work Monday through Sunday, including weekends, according to the test schedule.
- You should be able to stay alert and attentive for long periods.
