The Market Risk Management team focuses on spotting and managing the gaps that can appear when global safety standards meet the political, regulatory, and cultural realities of individual markets. Using market-level insights, local expertise, and input from multiple functions, the team builds practical approaches to reduce Trust & Safety risk, safeguard users, and keep safety measures effective across different regions.
About the role
This role sits within the Market Risk Management team and is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and helping address risks in regional communities. As a Program Manager, you will make sure policies, programs, and systems work in coordination to protect users and limit abuse across TikTok features in Bangladesh and the broader APAC region. You will contribute market expertise that strengthens safety, shapes strategic direction, and builds trust both inside and outside the Trust & Safety organization. The role involves launching and leading projects, driving operational improvements, recommending policy updates, and creating new workflows. You will also work closely with colleagues across public policy, legal, communications, product, operations, and policy to deliver outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare internal analyses on public sentiment and identified risks so mitigation efforts can be guided by evidence, patterns can be spotted early, and solutions can be developed across business areas.
- Design risk-prevention processes and strategy for the Bangladesh market on TikTok, with particular attention to safety concerns such as youth safety, hate, and cyberbullying.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders across Content Policy, Product Management, Data Analytics, Operations, Public Policy, and Communications to find, evaluate, and solve safety gaps in products while improving community wellbeing and user protection.
- Lead initiatives across product surfaces such as video, live, comments, follow/like, and accounts by combining qualitative and quantitative analysis to identify community risks and develop mitigations.
- Drive project definition, scope, implementation, and execution with cross-functional teams to ensure safety initiatives move from concept to delivery.
Qualifications
The role requires strong knowledge of user-generated content platforms, along with an understanding of the political, regulatory, and cultural environment in APAC. Fluency in spoken and written Bengali is essential because the job supports Bengali-speaking markets. Candidates should bring solid experience in Trust & Safety, operations, and related challenges, plus prior program, project, or product management experience in a safety, risk-control, or anti-spam setting. Strong time management, structured problem solving, and confidence working with large datasets are important, including the ability to analyze and present findings using Excel tools such as pivot tables, functions, and charts. SQL knowledge is considered a plus. The position also calls for comfort in a fast-moving environment, adaptability to changing priorities, and resilience along with self-care to manage the emotional demands of the work. A minimum of 3 years of experience in Trust & Safety and UGC platforms is preferred, along with deep familiarity with the APAC region and its culture.
Trust & Safety content exposure
This position may involve reviewing material such as images, video, and text that can include ordinary everyday content as well as harmful or sensitive material. Examples include bullying, hate speech, child safety issues, content depicting harm to self or others, and harm to animals. Candidates should be aware that exposure to harmful content may occur on a daily basis. The work can be rewarding, but it may also be psychologically demanding and emotionally taxing.
