About the Role
As a Territory Sales Manager operating as a Medical Representative in the pharmaceuticals and healthcare sector, you will be responsible for promoting and marketing pharmaceutical products focused on cardio-diabetic therapies. This role involves fostering strong relationships with healthcare professionals such as doctors, pharmacists, hospitals, and clinics with the goal of increasing product awareness and achieving sales goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage regularly with doctors, pharmacists, and hospitals to explain product benefits, recommended uses, and clinical information.
- Establish and maintain trust-based relationships with healthcare providers to drive consistent prescriptions and product usage.
- Meet assigned monthly and quarterly sales targets for cardiovascular and diabetic product lines.
- Plan and manage daily, weekly, and monthly visits and maintain detailed call records.
- Organize continuing medical education (CME) sessions, product demonstrations, and promotional campaigns.
- Monitor competitor products and industry trends to adapt strategies accordingly.
- Ensure the availability and proper display of products at both retail and wholesale locations.
- Keep current with medical knowledge, therapeutic developments, and new pharmaceutical advancements.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on doctor coverage, market feedback, and field activities to management.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to effectively present scientific and clinical information.
- Strong negotiation skills and relationship-building capability.
- Self-driven with a disciplined and target-focused work ethic.
- Understanding of medical terminology and basic pharmacology.
- Effective time management and ability to handle territory responsibilities.
- Familiarity with MS Office and reporting tools.
Education and Experience
- Graduation is mandatory, preferably in BSc or BPharma.
- MBA is a plus but not essential.
- Previous experience of 2 to 6 years in a similar territory role is required.
- Specific experience with cardio-diabetic therapy or chronic and diabetic (C&D) segments is essential.
