Job description

About Suntory Oceania

Suntory Oceania brings together Suntory’s beverage businesses across Australia and New Zealand into one multi-beverage organisation. Its portfolio includes 40 leading brands such as Jim Beam, Maker's Mark, Hibiki Japanese Whisky, Canadian Club Whisky, -196, V Energy, Maximus, and Suntory BOSS Coffee. The business is supported by five distribution centres, more than 1,500 team members, and two local manufacturing sites, with full control from end to end across the portfolio.

The company is expanding and will be relocating into the 38th floor of the Vero Centre in Auckland, creating a new workspace designed to reflect a collaborative, high-performing, and future-focused culture.

Suntory places strong value on its people and is committed to building a diverse mix of talent, experiences, and perspectives to help the business grow responsibly and sustainably.

Available channel areas include:

  • On-the-go routes and convenience
  • Grocery and non-licensed retail
  • Licensed accounts, including on-premise and off-premise

In this field-based position, you will take ownership of a territory, strengthen customer partnerships, drive commercial results, and ensure strong execution across the product range.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with retail and hospitality customers.
  • Plan and deliver promotional campaigns and execution activity in stores and venues.
  • Identify new opportunities and convert them into business growth.
  • Use data and commercial insights to shape decisions and improve outcomes.
  • Work closely with customers to understand their needs and support their growth.
  • Represent the brands in the field through regular customer visits.

About You

You are a driven, customer-oriented sales professional who enjoys working in a fast-moving, relationship-led environment. You are comfortable working independently and are motivated by results and career progression.

The role is well suited to someone with exposure to FMCG, retail, grocery, licensed, or hospitality sales, though equivalent experience may also be considered.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Confidence in building productive customer relationships.
  • A self-starting approach and the ability to work without close supervision.
  • Commercial awareness and comfort using data to guide decisions.
  • Good planning and organisational skills.
  • Motivation to achieve results and progress your career.

What’s on Offer

  • Career development with internal promotion opportunities across channels and markets.
  • A generous incentive structure to recognise strong performance.
  • Parental leave support for both primary and secondary caregivers.
  • A gradual return-to-work arrangement after parental leave.
  • Flexible working arrangements, including flexible hours and hybrid working.
  • Tools of trade, including a company vehicle.
  • Free life insurance and discounted health insurance.
  • Volunteer leave to support community giving.

The company values different backgrounds, perspectives, and lived experiences, and aims to create a workplace where people can bring their whole selves to work.
