Job description
Overview
Hitachi Energy is hiring a Tendering Specialist to support its Grid Integration business in Ireland. This role is based in Dublin and follows a hybrid arrangement, with an expectation of three days per week in the office.
Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
What you will do
- Prepare competitive bids, estimates, and quotations by selecting the most suitable product mix while balancing technical and commercial factors, and ensuring all costings are complete, accurate, and documented on time.
- Handle the technical, financial, and project-related inputs needed for proposals, including defining appropriate technologies and product types, building price sheets, carrying out cash flow analysis, and estimating engineering and commissioning effort.
- Coordinate the full bid process so that all required inputs are delivered on schedule and in line with quality procedures and tender timelines, while also arranging support services such as translations and government approvals when needed.
- Compile, file, and maintain offer and order documentation, record key assumptions and decisions made during bid development, and provide regular status updates using the prescribed tools while reviewing the causes of wins and losses.
- Spot risks linked to tenders, quotations, estimates, and related contract terms, and contribute information or participate in the formal risk review process according to company policy.
- Gather, organize, and validate all information required for proposal creation, covering both technical and commercial details.
- Build and sustain strong customer relationships, understand client needs, support a positive sales experience, and assist Sales Managers during customer meetings with technical input.
- Identify suitable suppliers for equipment and materials, assess vendor offers against specifications, and work with Supply Chain Management to coordinate subcontractor requests.
Candidate profile
- Demonstrated background in preparing bids, estimates, and quotations that are competitive and commercially sound.
- Solid technical understanding of how to select appropriate technologies and product types.
- Experience handling financial components such as total price sheets and cash flow analysis.
- Project management capability, including estimating engineering and commissioning hours.
- Ability to coordinate tender workstreams and secure timely, high-quality inputs from multiple stakeholders.
- Strong documentation, reporting, and tender analysis skills.
- Comfort with identifying and managing risk in line with internal policies.
- Ability to collect and combine technical and cost data to prepare proposals.
- Good customer relationship skills and the ability to provide technical support in sales discussions.
Additional information
This is a full-time position located in Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland. The role is expected to be hybrid, with three office days per week. The employer has stated that visa support cannot be provided.
