Job description
Job purpose
This role focuses on keeping plant electrical systems dependable through preventive, corrective, and troubleshooting maintenance, along with testing of electrical equipment to support the availability and reliability of process facilities.
Key responsibilities
- Safely isolate and re-energize low-voltage and high-voltage motors, UPS systems, transformers, generators, and other electrical circuits in line with company authorization and enabling certificate requirements, while carrying out fault finding, diagnosis, and troubleshooting for low- and high-voltage equipment.
- Receive, acknowledge, and close the electrical isolation confirmation certificate to confirm the activity is fully completed.
- Source the spare parts and tools needed to complete maintenance work.
- Perform routine, predictive, and preventive maintenance inspections on electrical equipment, including visual checks, to keep assets operating efficiently.
- Carry out new installations, modifications, and testing of equipment through the required stages according to the plan and supervisor instructions, ensuring all parameters are followed.
- Spot opportunities to improve existing work practices and support senior team members in implementing system changes and enhancements.
- Review completed maintenance tasks and fill in the maintenance activity sheet or survey so the work meets the required standard.
- Record maintenance information in the system to support failure-history reporting, contribute to method statement preparation, and raise near-miss reports when needed.
- Keep electrical drawings, records, and related documents current to support ongoing availability and traceability.
Minimum qualification
A diploma in electrical discipline, or a secondary school certificate combined with a vocational trade certificate in a relevant field.
Experience and background
At least 4 years of experience maintaining electrical equipment in a large industrial plant, preferably within the oil and gas sector.
