Maintenance Technician (CNG)

Job Purpose

This role is responsible for executing essential maintenance services for ADNOC's Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Hydrogen Refuelling facilities. The technician will conduct inspections, identify issues, and perform preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency repairs on all related equipment. This includes coordinating with maintenance contractors for significant repairs and preventive maintenance, ensuring equipment integrity and adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards.

Key Accountabilities

General Maintenance Execution

• Perform corrective and emergency repairs on electromechanical systems within CNG packages, including compressors, electric motors, switchgear, MCC rooms, priority panels, dispensers, cooling systems, PLC panels, and trailer-mounted gas systems.
• Respond to end-user complaints by visiting sites, assessing problems, and executing necessary corrective or emergency maintenance.
• Oversee and monitor maintenance contractors to ensure work meets required standards and reported issues are resolved effectively.
• Review preventive maintenance reports from contractors for CNG station chillers, assess equipment for replacement needs, ensure service quality, and provide recommendations to the supervisor.
• Supervise third-party contractors performing maintenance on CNG stations, conducting daily inspections of electromechanical areas and reviewing contractor maintenance checklists.
• Provide guidance to contractors on accessing utilities within CNG stations using as-built drawings to facilitate preventive and breakdown maintenance.
• Procure small, urgent maintenance supplies using petty cash.
• Address maintenance-related complaints for CNG assets through the SAP system.
• Conduct routine tests as per the predictive maintenance schedule for CNG assets.
• Promptly attend to breakdowns, perform repairs, and return equipment to service safely and efficiently.
• Strictly adhere to safety instructions in hazardous work areas, performing necessary safety checks.
• Maintain organized records of all completed preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance tasks, and cover duties of other technicians during their absence.
• Handle end-user inquiries and requests when the supervisor is unavailable.

Training

• Provide on-the-job training to support competency-based training programs for UAE nationals.

Toolbox

• Ensure all company-provided tools, safety gear, and equipment are maintained in safe and working condition.
• Arrange for the repair or replacement of any damaged or non-functional tools and safety gear.

Time Management

• Complete all maintenance tasks within allocated timeframes.
• Notify the Maintenance Supervisor if additional resources are needed to meet job deadlines.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to identifying opportunities for improving operating procedures, functional processes, machinery, or equipment.

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability

• Comply with all relevant HSE policies, procedures, controls, legislation, and sustainability guidelines.
• Participate as a team member in Emergency Response duties.

Housekeeping

• Maintain a clean and tidy work environment before, during, and after job execution, adhering to hygiene and housekeeping standards.

Reports

• Gather technical data from the field to contribute to progress reports for management.
• Provide input for Method Statements and initiate Near Miss reports.
