Job description
Job Purpose
The Maintenance Technician (Instrumentation) is responsible for performing service, repair, and maintenance on all electrical systems and equipment, with a specific focus on Instrumentation & Control Systems within the plant, equipment, and buildings at the multi-product depot and Military Depot in Al Ain region. This role ensures all activities adhere to corporate, engineering, and technical standards, as well as safety and environmental requirements.
Key Accountabilities
- Execute service, repair, and maintenance for electrical systems, including Instrumentation & Control Systems, at designated depots in Al Ain, ensuring compliance with standards and safety regulations.
- Conduct routine and scheduled inspections and maintenance of all instruments, meticulously recording and monitoring their condition.
- Perform maintenance on electronic equipment, which includes checking, cleaning, and testing instrumentation, replacing fuses and lamps on control panels, calibrating sensors, transmitters, control valves, and recorders.
- Troubleshoot and repair PCBs, valves, and displays, and recalibrate equipment post-maintenance.
- Diagnose and repair faults in electric, pneumatic, and microprocessor-based control and recording systems, including replacing PCBs and reloading system programs.
- Service all electric, pneumatic, and microprocessor-based control and recording systems as directed by the Electrical Supervisor.
- Install and operate advanced testing equipment, verifying its functionality against industry standards.

- Adhere to and implement all relevant functional policies, processes, systems, and standards to achieve operational objectives.
Training
- Provide on-the-job training to UAE nationals as part of Competency Based Training programs to support nationalization efforts.
Tool Box
- Maintain all company-provided tools, safety gear, and equipment in safe and working condition.
- Arrange for the repair or replacement of any tools or safety gear that are not in good working order.
Time Management
- Complete all maintenance jobs within the allocated time standards.
- Notify the Maintenance Supervisor if additional resources are needed to complete a job within the specified timeframe.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to identifying opportunities for improving operating procedures, modifying functional processes, machinery, or equipment.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
- Comply with all relevant HSE policies, procedures, controls, applicable legislation, and sustainability guidelines, aligning with international standards and ADNOC Code of Practices.
- Participate as a team member in Emergency Response duties.
Housekeeping
- Maintain a clean and tidy work environment before, during, and after job execution, adhering to hygiene and housekeeping standards.
Reports
- Gather technical data from the field to contribute to section progress reports for Company Management.
- Provide input for the creation of Method Statements and initiate Near Miss reports.
