Role overview
This position sits within HR and focuses on employee relations and statutory compliance for the Gold Loans business across a defined zone of branches. The person in this role will help ensure that labour law requirements, company policies, audit expectations, and ethical HR standards are consistently followed. The job also calls for frequent branch travel to support audits, investigations, compliance reviews, and urgent employee relations matters.
HR operations and compliance
- Keep all branch locations fully aligned with applicable statutory requirements, including Shops and Establishment, minimum wages, bonus, gratuity, PF, ESI, CLRA, POSH, and similar regulations.
- Carry out recurring HR and compliance audits at branch level.
- Maintain accurate trackers, records, and supporting documentation for compliance activities.
- Work with legal and compliance teams on statutory submissions and inspection-related matters.
- Assist with internal and external audits covering HR and labour compliance.
Employee relations
- Handle employee grievances and drive timely resolution.
- Support and conduct disciplinary reviews, inquiries, and domestic investigations when needed.
- Assist HR business partners in managing misconduct, absenteeism, and performance-related concerns.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for warning letters, charge sheets, and separation or termination actions.
- Contribute to a healthy employee relations environment across the zone.
- Ensure employees follow the code of conduct and expected ethical practices.
- Work closely with business HR teams to resolve employee concerns.
- Oversee background verification and employee file/document checks.
POSH and workplace conduct
- Ensure branches comply with POSH requirements.
- Support Internal Committee processes and participate in awareness initiatives.
Travel and field engagement
- Visit branches regularly across the assigned geography.
- Conduct unannounced compliance checks and employee engagement interactions.
- Remain available for urgent employee relations cases and statutory inspections.
Skills and competencies
- Strong understanding of labour legislation and statutory compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience with employee relations and disciplinary procedures.
- Ability to investigate issues and resolve conflict effectively.
- Excellent documentation and audit management capability.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with stakeholder coordination experience.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the zone.
