Role Overview

Reporting directly to the Manager of Talent Acquisition, the Talent Acquisition Specialist oversees comprehensive recruitment activities targeted at business professionals. Responsibilities include conducting exit interviews, aiding onboarding processes, and contributing to various human resources initiatives. The successful candidate will bring a proven background in recruitment with specialization in targeted searches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively source, attract, and assess candidates for permanent, contract, and pipeline roles.
  • Establish and maintain professional networks with high-quality candidates.
  • Craft strategic sourcing plans aligning with organizational hiring goals.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand current and future talent needs.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador, articulating the firm's employee value proposition.
  • Utilize internal talent pools to promote mobility, referrals, and alumni engagement.
  • Implement and research pre-employment assessment tools.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance recruitment processes.
  • Develop and coordinate job descriptions with compensation specialists.
  • Act as a subject matter expert to guide hiring managers and candidates throughout recruitment stages.
  • Review candidate applications and offer hiring recommendations.
  • Manage relationships with educational institutions to support recruitment.
  • Organize and facilitate both in-person and virtual interviews.
  • Draft offer letters, present job opportunities, and complete onboarding protocols.
  • Advise compensation team on salary recommendations.
  • Conduct and document exit interviews; report trends to leadership.
  • Oversee employee transfers and promotions, including documentation and managerial support.
  • Assist HR Coordinator with onboarding, orientation, student programs, and company events.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in business, human resources, or a related field paired with at least two years of recruitment experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum two years conducting full-cycle recruitment.
  • Thorough understanding of talent acquisition strategies and HR policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster strong, confidential relationships with tact and discretion.
  • Proficient in managing Applicant Tracking Systems.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills paired with a proactive ownership attitude.
  • Familiarity with relevant employment laws, including the Human Rights Code and Employment Standards Act.
  • Strong customer service orientation with welcoming interpersonal skills.
  • Effective relationship building and networking capabilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication along with active listening skills.

Compensation and Work Arrangement

The anticipated salary range for this role is $70,000 to $80,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Currently, the firm operates with a hybrid working model requiring primarily in-office presence with the option to work remotely up to two days weekly.
