Role overview

The Vancouver office is hiring a Legal Assistant to support the day-to-day management of several legal professionals’ practices through administrative assistance. The exact department will be determined during the recruitment process.

Key duties

  • Organize schedules, resources, workflow, and deadlines for legal professionals, including maintaining document filing systems, preparing work-in-progress materials, and setting up new files.
  • Communicate with clients to arrange meetings and share information as needed.
  • Manage client billing administration by ensuring dockets are submitted, reviewing and editing e-prebills, preparing invoices for legal review, checking fees and disbursements, handling write-offs, and responding to billing questions.
  • Receive, investigate, prepare, and follow up on audit-related requests.
  • Work with sensitive and confidential records and documents.
  • Prepare letters and memoranda, including affidavits of documents, assemble files, and complete conflict checks and reports.
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support such as filing, answering calls, arranging travel, coordinating meetings, transcribing dictation, conducting research, photocopying, and binding materials.

Compensation

The expected annual salary for this position is between $51,000 and $56,000. Final compensation may differ based on role-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal and market equity considerations.
