About the Role
Join a reputable Canadian company based in Mississauga, ON as a Sourcing Specialist on a 5-month contractual engagement. This position offers $46 per hour and requires the candidate to work onsite 3 days per week. The role is an excellent opportunity for procurement experts to spearhead strategic sourcing initiatives while actively supporting the modernization of the procurement department towards operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal departments to grasp business priorities and long-term objectives, delivering expert advice to aid the organization’s transition toward agile and advanced procurement methodologies.
- Design and execute sourcing strategies that optimize costs and supplier outcomes while aligning with the newly envisioned operational standards of the department.
- Oversee all phases of competitive sourcing, including preparation of RFPs and RFQs, proposal evaluation, and contract negotiation, emphasizing long-term value and innovation.
- Identify and resolve supplier or contractual concerns using market insights to recommend improvements that support ongoing enhancement efforts.
- Maintain comprehensive records of sourcing activities and contracts adhering to updated company policies and best industry practices.
- Draft contracts and specialized provisions, collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to ensure contract robustness from both legal and commercial perspectives.
- Contribute actively to process improvement projects and digital transformation efforts aimed at strengthening sourcing efficiency and procurement automation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or related disciplines.
- At least 4 years’ experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain functions within a corporate setting.
- Demonstrable success managing end-to-end competitive sourcing procedures including RFPs, RFQs, and tender processes.
- Adaptability to dynamic work environments and a strong motivation to support significant departmental transformation initiatives.
- Excellent negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving competencies.
- Capability to juggle multiple priorities efficiently under strict deadlines while ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
