Role overview

The Talent Acquisition Specialist serves as a key strategic partner across the hiring function, overseeing the complete recruitment cycle for both internal and external talent. The position is responsible for attracting, evaluating, and securing strong candidates while also improving recruiting methods, tools, and workflows to drive better hiring outcomes. Working closely with hiring managers, the specialist helps define staffing needs, build focused hiring plans, and maintain a smooth candidate journey. Responsibilities also include maintaining talent pipelines, keeping internal hiring changes such as promotions and transfers communicated in a timely way, and managing offers through HRIS or ATS platforms. The position requires ongoing improvement of recruiting systems and processes through automation, enhancements, and adherence to best practices. Creating accurate job descriptions, standardizing interview guides, and training hiring managers are also part of the role, as is ensuring hiring practices remain aligned with employment laws and internal policies.

In addition to daily recruiting execution, the specialist monitors metrics such as time-to-fill and source effectiveness to identify opportunities for improvement. The role involves maintaining and optimizing recruiting channels such as LinkedIn and Indeed, building relationships with community groups, schools, and workforce agencies, and supporting employer branding activities. Helping internal employees prepare for advancement opportunities is also an important part of contributing to ABT’s reputation as an employer of choice.
