About the Company

Boise Centre is a leading convention and event venue in downtown Boise, Idaho. With 86,000 square feet of adaptable, modern event space, the venue supports a wide range of conferences, galas, and celebrations. Its offerings include premium catering, advanced audiovisual support, and scenic views of the Boise Foothills. The organization hosts hundreds of events each year and focuses on delivering exceptional experiences while continuously improving through innovation and excellence in event operations.

About the Role

Boise Centre is looking for a personable and proactive Human Resources Specialist to support its team. The position plays an important part in employee experience, end-to-end hiring, HR administration, and maintaining a healthy workplace culture. The right candidate will help attract strong talent, improve HR workflows, and support compliance with employment rules. This is a strong fit for an HR professional who enjoys a busy environment, works well across teams, and is committed to building an inclusive and engaging workplace aligned with the company’s goals.

Qualifications

Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related discipline and bring at least two years of experience handling full-cycle recruitment, particularly for high-volume or difficult-to-fill positions. Experience in an office-based administrative role is required, along with a solid background in customer service. The role also calls for experience using applicant tracking systems and human resource information systems, plus advanced computer proficiency. Strong communication, confidentiality, discretion, and personal integrity are essential. Candidates must be able to juggle several priorities, adjust to shifting workloads, and work smoothly with different teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete hiring process, from sourcing candidates and advertising roles to screening, interviewing, and extending offers.
  • Partner with managers to identify staffing gaps and shape recruitment plans for both high-volume and specialized positions.
  • Design and run onboarding activities that help new employees settle in smoothly and feel welcomed.
  • Support HRIS tools by resolving issues, helping users, and keeping employee records accurate and up to date.
  • Track hiring trends, engagement indicators, and attrition data to guide HR planning and decisions.
  • Draft, revise, and maintain standard procedures and best-practice documents to improve efficiency and compliance.
  • Help ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Arrange background verification checks and handle pre-adverse and adverse action steps according to legal standards.
  • Respond to employee and supervisor questions and offer guidance on HR policies and routine workplace matters.
  • Assist with HR initiatives, reporting, and general administrative support for department goals.
  • Contribute to employee engagement efforts and support Boise Centre’s reputation as an employer of choice.
  • Continue professional learning through training and involvement in HR associations and networks.

Benefits

Boise Centre provides a broad benefits package intended to support health, financial security, and career development. Coverage options include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance for employees and eligible family members. Retirement support is available through a 401(a) Retirement Savings Plan and a 457 Deferred Compensation Plan, with employer contributions available once eligibility requirements are met. Employees also receive access to an Employee Assistance Program for personal and work-related support, help with downtown Boise parking expenses, and a free bus pass for easier commuting. The company encourages work-life balance with generous paid time off, ten paid holidays each year, and occasional complimentary meals during shifts.

Equal Opportunity

Boise Centre is committed to fair hiring and an inclusive workplace. All qualified applicants are considered without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or protected veteran status.
