Job description

Overview

This role presents a unique chance for a seasoned Sustainability Change Lead to join the Trust's Sustainability Team within the Strategy, Research and Innovation Directorate. The successful candidate will be instrumental in leading and implementing the innovative, Imperial Health Charity-funded Clean Air Care project. This initiative integrates air pollution data into patient electronic health records and equips clinicians with the training to provide personalized advice on reducing patient exposure to air pollution.

Additionally, the role will oversee multiple Green Plan workstreams across the Trust that target climate change mitigation and air quality improvement—core to the Trust's Green Plan Strategy. Addressing these environmental health challenges is crucial in line with the NHS's commitment to becoming the world’s first net zero national health service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the operational delivery and corporate governance for the Clean Air Care project and related Green Plan initiatives funded by the Imperial Health Charity.
  • Provide occasional support to other Green Plan projects as needed.
  • Engage and collaborate with colleagues across the organization and relevant external sectors.
  • Organize, lead, and participate in all pertinent project meetings within the Trust.
  • Deliver strong project management alongside timely guidance and leadership in cooperation with managers, staff, and external partners.
  • Compile detailed written reports outlining project status, including risk assessments and Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycle details.
  • Coordinate and contribute to updates of the Trust’s Green Plan 12-goal framework.
  • Drive specific priority programs and support teams in creating and sustaining local improvements aligned with the Clean Air Care objectives, ensuring these are maintained through future-proof strategies and connections to corporate and clinical supports.
  • Advise expertise on innovation and advancement in Clean Air Care, linking these efforts to broader respiratory and public health sustainability programs and ensuring Trust strategies adhere to emerging best practices.
