Job description

Position Overview

The Surveillance Operator plays a critical role in monitoring the premises through electronic surveillance systems. This position requires vigilance in identifying and reporting suspicious activities, ensuring that all operations comply with site policies, internal protocols, and regulations set forth by the Alberta Gaming & Liquor Commission (AGLC).

Key Responsibilities and Skills

  • Operate and monitor CCTV and related surveillance technologies to oversee the establishment's activities.
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of all operational departments, policies, and procedures to effectively detect any fraudulent or cheating behaviors targeting the casino or its patrons.
  • Utilize strong observational acumen and communication skills to report incidents with accuracy and clarity.
  • Possess in-depth understanding of casino operations including table games, slot machines, poker policies, and cash cage/count room procedures.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and demonstrate proficiency in verbal and written communication for incident documentation and daily reporting.
  • Exhibit a reliable memory and the capability to respond accurately and swiftly during emergency situations.
  • Additional requirements include shift work adaptability and the ability to sit for extended periods within a dimly lit environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent practical experience.
  • Previous background in surveillance or IT-related roles.
  • Familiarity and practical experience with closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems.

  • Preference will be extended to members of the Tsuut'ina Nation.
