Job Overview

The Overnight Public Areas Houseperson is tasked with carrying out housekeeping duties within the hotel premises, ensuring that public spaces, restrooms, employee areas, administrative offices, and other designated zones maintain a high standard of cleanliness and appearance. This position requires representing the hotel positively to guests and coworkers by being pleasant, courteous, and responsive to issues and special requests.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of all designated public and employee areas during the overnight shift.
  • Follow hotel policies and safety protocols to consistently meet or exceed quality standards.
  • Respond professionally and courteously to guest inquiries or concerns as they arise.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Completion of high school diploma or equivalent work-related certification.
  • Preferred minimum of 2 years experience in cleaning and housekeeping.
  • Experience with carpet and window cleaning is considered a valuable asset.
  • Ability to lift weights up to 50 pounds safely and perform repetitive physical tasks.
  • Capacity to thrive in a physically demanding, fast-paced, high-volume environment, managing multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong teamwork skills while also able to work independently when required.
  • High attention to detail and responsibility towards assigned duties.
  • Availability to work various shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of WHMIS and experience with biohazard cleanup is advantageous.
