Position Summary

The Surveillance Operator is responsible for overseeing the premises by utilizing electronic surveillance systems. You will identify and report suspicious activities in strict alignment with internal policies, procedures, and the regulations set forth by the Alberta Gaming & Liquor Commission (AGLC).

Qualifications and Experience

  • Completion of high school diploma or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Prior involvement in surveillance activities or information technology-related positions.
  • Familiarity and hands-on experience handling CCTV systems.

Skills and Abilities

  • Exceptional attention to detail with a thorough understanding of operational departments, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong observational skills paired with effective communication capabilities.
  • Ability to identify fraudulent schemes or cheating attempts targeting the casino or its patrons.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of closed-circuit television system operations.
  • In-depth understanding of casino procedures including table games, slots, poker, cash and slot cage operations, and count room protocols.
  • Excellent customer service aptitude, with clear verbal communication and strong writing skills to produce accurate reports.
  • Good memory retention and the capacity to react promptly and suitably during emergencies.
  • Willingness to work shifts and remain seated for extended durations in a dimly-lit, confined setting.
