Job Overview
This role is a long-term, study-friendly student position with a hostel team in Düsseldorf. It is intended for enrolled students who want to work alongside their studies and enjoy a side job in a hospitality setting.
What You’ll Do
- Take on varied shifts across reception, bar, and restaurant duties, with the main focus on the reception and bar area.
- Handle guest check-in and check-out at the front desk or lobby as a guest relations contact.
- Support guests with questions and help ensure they feel comfortable throughout their stay.
- Serve hot and cold drinks and snacks at the bar, and also prepare light snacks and cocktails.
- During restaurant shifts, prepare breakfast, lunch, or dinner buffets on time.
- Make sure guests are satisfied and hygiene standards are consistently maintained.
What We’re Looking For
- You are currently enrolled as a student and can provide a valid certificate of enrollment.
- You enjoy working with guests at any time of day or night.
- You bring an independent way of working, strong commitment, and good teamwork.
- Your German and English skills are at B2 level, and additional languages are welcome.
What’s Offered
- Hourly pay of €13.90 plus night shift allowance.
- 75% to 90% discount on private stays at all a&o hostels, depending on length of service.
- Flexible shift planning based on your availability.
- Access to attractive corporate benefits, discounted leisure activities, and events.
- Sponsored language courses.
- Support for professional development through various training programs.
- Free mental health coaching through an independent partner for support with work, personal, and health-related challenges.
- Dress code is casual: jeans and an a&o polo shirt instead of formal suits or uniforms.
- Daily drinks, fruit, and vegetables are provided, and hostel staff may also join the team for warm buffet meals.
Application Requirements
Please include your CV, cover letter, a copy of your certificate of enrollment, your salary expectation, and your earliest possible start date.
