Job description
About the role
Hopper is looking for a Strategy & Analytics Manager to take ownership of the analytical and operational systems that support its Travel Commercial organization. This group manages hotel, home, and car inventory distributed to partners around the world. The role is highly hands-on and builder-focused, combining data, process design, and technology while working closely with Product and Engineering and reporting to senior commercial leadership.
What you will do
- Create and maintain data models, dashboards, and reporting structures that give the commercial team reliable visibility into the full commercial funnel.
- Use AI tools as part of your everyday analytical process to speed up insight generation, improve quality, and make room for deeper problem-solving.
- Lead detailed analyses to uncover trends, irregularities, and opportunities in commercial data, then turn those findings into practical recommendations for stakeholders.
- Set and monitor KPIs that reflect both business performance and the quality of the processes behind it, building a feedback loop for continuous improvement.
- Prepare for and follow through on important internal meetings, strategic reviews, and cross-functional discussions so the right data informs decisions and next steps are clear.
- Build the analytical structures used for quarterly planning, forecasting, and target-setting, with outputs that commercial leaders can use immediately.
- Review, challenge, and redesign core commercial workflows such as pipeline management, forecasting rhythms, and sales incentive frameworks so they are simpler, faster, and easier to scale.
- Deliver operational improvements end to end, including implementation, adoption support, and impact measurement.
- Spot opportunities where AI can materially improve commercial processes, then design and deploy those solutions directly.
- Develop a practical understanding of the commercial technology stack and identify areas where friction, data loss, or missed value may exist.
- Turn commercial challenges into clear briefs that Product and Engineering can act on, with enough technical fluency to contribute as a strong peer in those conversations.
What the ideal candidate brings
The team is seeking someone with at least 2 years of experience in data analytics, sales operations, strategy and operations, or another similar analytical/commercial role. The person should be confident working with SQL and BI/data tools such as Looker, Tableau, or BigQuery, and should have a history of actually building dashboards, data models, process systems, or operational tools rather than only advising on them.
Strong business judgment, paired with solid analytical depth, is important. The role suits someone who can move comfortably between high-level strategy and hands-on execution. A genuine interest in AI is expected, along with a habit of using it to improve their own work and a desire to apply it within a commercial organization.
Experience collaborating with Product and/or Engineering teams is important, along with enough technical understanding to communicate effectively in those settings. The company is also looking for a first-principles thinker who questions assumptions, stress-tests processes, and consistently asks why things work the way they do. A strong sense of ownership, fast action, and the ability to operate well in ambiguous, fast-moving environments are key.
Perks and benefits
- Competitive pay, with the possibility of upside through pre-IPO equity in a well-funded startup.
- 100% employer-paid employee premiums for a Vitality Health group insurance plan.
- Automatic pension contributions through Smart Pension from the start date.
- Very generous parental leave, significantly above standard industry offerings.
- On-demand access to co-working space through FlexDesk, plus a work-from-home stipend.
- Carrot Cash travel stipend.
- Unlimited paid time off.
- An entrepreneurial environment that encourages bold thinking and calculated risk-taking.
- Open communication with leadership and management.
- Small, dynamic teams with the chance to make a large impact.
