About the role

Hopper is looking for a Strategy & Analytics Manager to lead the analytical and operational systems behind its Travel Commercial team, which manages hotel, home, and car inventory for global partners. This is a practical, build-focused role that sits at the intersection of data, process, and technology, and works closely with Product and Engineering while reporting to senior commercial leadership.

What you'll do

  • Create, own, and continuously improve the data models, dashboards, and reporting structures that provide the commercial team with reliable visibility across the full funnel.
  • Use AI tools as part of day-to-day analysis to speed up insight generation, improve the quality of outputs, and reserve more time for higher-level problem solving.
  • Lead detailed analytical investigations to identify trends, outliers, and commercial opportunities, then turn those findings into clear recommendations for business stakeholders.
  • Set and monitor KPIs that measure business performance as well as the effectiveness of the processes supporting it, helping create an ongoing improvement loop.
  • Prepare and manage follow-up actions for important internal meetings, strategic reviews, and cross-functional discussions so that decisions are backed by data and translated into concrete next steps.
  • Develop the analytical foundations for quarterly planning, forecasting, and target-setting, producing outputs that commercial leaders can use directly.
  • Review, challenge, and redesign core commercial processes such as pipeline management, forecasting rhythms, and sales incentive plans into more efficient and scalable workflows.
  • Deliver operational improvements end to end by driving implementation, adoption, and impact measurement, not just designing the solution.
  • Spot opportunities where AI can materially reshape commercial operations, then build and deploy practical solutions.
  • Build a working understanding of the commercial tech stack and diagnose friction points, data gaps, and missed opportunities.
  • Translate business challenges into actionable briefs for Product and Engineering, using enough technical knowledge to collaborate as an effective peer.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in data analytics, sales operations, strategy and operations, or another analytical/commercial role.
  • Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with BI or data platforms such as Looker, Tableau, or BigQuery.
  • Proven ability to build data models, dashboards, process frameworks, or operational tools rather than only advising on them.
  • Strong commercial judgement combined with solid analytical depth, with comfort moving between strategic discussions and hands-on execution.
  • Clear enthusiasm for AI, along with a habit of using it to improve personal workflow and an interest in applying it across a commercial organisation.
  • Experience working with Product and/or Engineering teams and enough technical understanding to contribute meaningfully in those discussions.
  • First-principles thinking, including the ability to challenge assumptions and test whether current processes make sense.
  • A strong bias toward action, ownership, and effectiveness in fast-changing, uncertain environments.

Contract terms

This role is offered as an independent contractor engagement rather than direct employment. The selected person will work as a self-employed individual or through a Personal Service Company (PSC). They will be responsible for their own tax, PRSI, and VAT compliance under Irish Revenue Commissioners rules. The engagement depends on proof of valid business registration and suitable professional indemnity insurance.

Compensation range: $180,000 to $250,000.
