About the Job
Our client, a well-regarded national strategic advisory firm, is expanding their Chicago team by adding a Strategic Finance Associate. This position offers a chance to collaborate closely with senior leaders on intricate financial planning, capital strategy, and transformative projects within top healthcare organizations.
Professionals with backgrounds in investment banking, consulting, private equity, transaction advisory, valuation, or strategic finance who are passionate about tackling complex financial problems, developing advanced financial models, and engaging with executive leadership for impactful strategic outcomes will find this role ideal.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and update complex three-statement financial models, discounted cash flow (DCF) valuations, long-range forecasts, and perform scenario planning.
- Conduct thorough analyses of financial statements, capital structures, liquidity positions, and debt capabilities to inform strategic decisions.
- Execute valuation studies and construct financial projections to assess strategic initiatives and capital expenditures.
- Craft presentations tailored for executive and board members that simplify intricate financial insights into actionable guidance.
- Assist in long-term financial planning, capital distribution, and enterprise-level strategic initiatives.
- Contribute to mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other transactional analyses when necessary.
- Perform market, industry, and competitor research to uncover emerging trends and potential opportunities.
- Engage directly with senior client leaders while overseeing multiple project streams across engagements.
- Guide and mentor junior associates while fostering a collaborative and high-achieving team culture.
Qualifications
- Between 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in investment banking, management consulting, private equity, transaction advisory, valuation, corporate development, or strategic finance.
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline is mandatory.
- Expertise in financial modeling, including integrated three-statement models, DCF-based valuations, forecasting techniques, and scenario analysis.
- Proven ability to analyze financial statements and apply corporate finance principles for strategic business decisions.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong presentation and communication aptitudes able to distill complex analyses for executive-level stakeholders.
- Highly organized with the capacity to handle multiple client-facing projects in a dynamic environment.
- Healthcare industry interest or experience is advantageous but not required.
