Job description
Role Overview
This position supports the origination and structuring of project finance and structured lending deals across diverse sectors including power generation, utilities, infrastructure, energy (and energy transition), and digital infrastructure. Reporting to senior professionals, the analyst will play a key role in business development and the routine execution of transactions. Success depends on thriving in a dynamic, collaborative setting with the ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Gain comprehensive understanding of construction, operational, and financial inputs for project financial models, dedicating significant effort to prepare and interpret credit scenarios, sensitivities, key metrics, and summaries.
- Provide support and eventually lead elements of project financing from inception to closing, including credit risk analysis, risk and return assessments, thorough due diligence encompassing legal and contract reviews, third-party consultant evaluations, and credit documentation assistance.
- Coordinate financial closings, oversee AML/KYC and client onboarding processes, and manage virtual data rooms.
- Prepare detailed credit submissions such as applications, memoranda, and presentations for internal committees and external stakeholders including clients and investors.
- Synthesize diligence findings to formulate clear recommendations highlighting critical risks and mitigants.
- Operate internal return models, prepare capital committee memoranda, and collaborate with credit and operations teams throughout origination, closing, and funding phases.
- Maintain compliance focus by incorporating risk assessment, internal controls, and policy adherence into daily duties.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance/accounting, economics with notable academic achievement; academic transcripts may be requested.
- Experience in financial services analyzing credit risk for large corporate, commercial, or project finance portfolios.
- Project finance expertise and advanced financial modeling skills are advantageous.
- Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and effective time management.
- Strong verbal, written, and listening communication abilities with capacity to distill complex information clearly for diverse audiences.
- Initiative-driven, quick learner capable of independent work as well as effective teamwork.
- Demonstrated accountability with proactive anticipation of team requirements.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience or ability to leverage artificial intelligence tools to improve efficiency is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
The target base salary is $95,000 USD annually. Actual compensation may vary depending on location, skills, experience, education, qualifications, and may include commission-based components. Salaries for part-time roles are prorated accordingly.
The total rewards package includes performance incentives, discretionary bonuses, and additional benefits such as health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident and life insurance, and retirement savings plans.
