Staff Nurse - Mental Health Residential Service

About the Role

Everyturn Mental Health is expanding its services into London with a new residential facility in Beckenham, created in collaboration with South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. This 12 to 14-bed service offers specialist, clinically-led community rehabilitation for individuals with complex mental health needs, providing 24/7 clinical support in a secure, therapeutic, and recovery-focused setting.

The Staff Nurse role involves coordinating daily service operations, leading the nursing team, and working closely with patients, families, and carers to assess needs, develop support plans, and implement interventions that promote recovery, resilience, and enhanced quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Ensure delivery of person-centred, outcome-driven care that upholds dignity and meets quality standards.
• Carry out assessments and fulfill the needs of service users and their carers whilst maintaining precise and up-to-date records.
• Effectively manage team resources to achieve set care outcomes and uphold standards.
• Safely administer medication aligning with professional guidelines.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to students and newly qualified nurses to support ongoing professional growth.
• Assist Service Manager and Clinical Lead in ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality requirements.
• Proactively identify and manage risks, implementing measures to mitigate harm.
• Conduct audits of clinical practices and service delivery, suggesting improvements where necessary.
• Handle team conflicts constructively, escalating issues when required.
• Support the Clinical Lead by deputising as needed and performing reasonable duties to maintain high care standards.

Requirements

• Registered with the NMC as a First Level Nurse (RMN or RNLD) with relevant post-registration experience.
• Experience supporting individuals with complex mental health conditions and challenging behaviours.
• Competence in medication administration and clinical decision-making.
• Strong understanding of mental health policies, safeguarding protocols, and professional standards.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills.
• Ability to mentor and develop staff, work autonomously, and foster positive team dynamics.
• Proficiency in IT systems with excellent organisational and time management capabilities.
• Emotional resilience and dedication to continuous professional development.

Additional Information

• Work schedule is full-time with 24/7 coverage, including nights and weekends.
• Shift pay enhancements: 1.3 times hourly rate after 8 pm and on Saturdays; 1.6 times hourly rate on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
• This position is not open for visa sponsorship under UK's immigration rules.
