Staff Nurse - Acute Medicine Short Stay Unit (AMSSU)

About the Role

We are inviting applications for skilled and proactive staff nurses to join the Acute Medicine Short Stay Unit (AMSSU), a vital component of the Acute floor at Mater Misericordiae University Hospital. Since 2010, the National Acute Medicine Programme has aimed to standardize and enhance the treatment of acutely ill adult patients across the Irish healthcare system. Acute medicine focuses on the prompt and expert management of patients facing a variety of urgent medical conditions who arrive at or are already admitted within an acute hospital requiring emergency care. Units such as Acute Medical Units (AMUs), Acute Medical Assessment Units (AMAUs), and AMSSUs have been established to effectively deliver this critical care.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with relevant stakeholders to support the implementation of the National Clinical Care Programmes, with a strong focus on the Acute Medicine Programme. The post holder will uphold the hospital's values and strategic objectives by ensuring care is delivered to the highest professional and ethical standards. Responsibilities encompass assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while adhering to the nursing care framework of the hospital.
