Job description

Overview

This role has been exempted from the federal civilian hiring freeze. As an FBI Special Agent, your career is defined by your analytical skills, decision-making, and actions that impact national security. Leveraging your background in law and legal fields, you will transition into federal law enforcement to investigate violent crimes, cyber threats, terrorism, fraud, and other emerging dangers.

Role Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute investigations related to potential violations of federal laws, cybersecurity threats, and public safety concerns.
  • Exercise sound judgment and adaptability to meet complex investigative challenges.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with law enforcement agencies at federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international levels.
  • Maintain physical fitness necessary for performing demanding law enforcement duties.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
  • Ability to acquire Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for the role.
  • Must satisfy FBI employment eligibility criteria.
  • Bachelor’s or Juris Doctor degree in law, legal studies, or a related discipline from an accredited U.S. institution. Official college transcripts must be submitted to verify degree.

Compensation

Annual salary ranges from $93,749 to $133,200, dependent on base pay, locality adjustments, and availability pay.
