Role Overview

We are seeking experienced and motivated Solar Electricians to join our expanding commercial installation team, primarily based in Waikato with regular travel across New Zealand. This hands-on, customer-facing position is essential in delivering and maintaining clean energy solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Install wiring, switchgear, transformers, solar panels, and mounting hardware at various sites including commercial, industrial, and residential locations.
• Connect and commission inverters, battery storage systems, charge controllers, and other energy-related components.
• Install and maintain photovoltaic (PV) systems and associated equipment according to specifications.
• Read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, technical documentation, and solar system specifications accurately.
• Conduct electrical safety testing ensuring full compliance with New Zealand standards and regulations.
• Identify faults, perform repairs, and replace parts as necessary to maintain system performance.
• Support warehouse activities such as stocktaking and handling installation kits including loading and unloading duties.
• Provide valuable feedback to Sales and Customer Service teams aimed at improving the installation experience and customer satisfaction.
• Deliver professional and courteous customer service representing Lightforce Solar with pride and integrity.
• Uphold company values by supporting teammates and celebrating team achievements.
• Meet or exceed performance goals while actively contributing to enhancement of installation procedures.
• Adhere strictly to all Health, Safety, and Wellbeing policies throughout all work activities.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a full New Zealand driver’s licence.
• Hold NZ Electrical Registration or NZ Limited Certificate (EWRB) with a commitment to achieving full registration.
• Have a valid current work visa if applicable.
• Demonstrate strong technical aptitude and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
• Exhibit excellent communication skills and a customer-oriented approach.
• Willingness to travel frequently and occasionally work away from home as required by project locations.
• Maintain a positive, reliable, and collaborative attitude within the team environment.
• Experience in solar installation is advantageous but not mandatory; training and growth opportunities are available.
