About the Role
Join Lightforce Solar as a Solar Trade Assistant and play an essential part in our installation teams, collaborating closely with the Hub Manager and Electrician for residential and commercial solar projects. Your focus will be on safely, efficiently, and professionally completing rooftop solar installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with installing solar panels, mounting hardware, and electrical cabling on rooftops at both residential and commercial sites.
- Organize, transport, and prepare necessary tools and materials for installation jobs.
- Support warehouse operations including stocktaking and organizing inventory as needed.
- Work collaboratively with electricians, roofers, and project managers to ensure smooth execution of projects.
- Maintain quality workmanship throughout all installation tasks.
- Accurately complete installation paperwork, safety documentation, and job reports.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols, properly use personal protective equipment, and promote a safe working environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Offer constructive feedback to enhance installation procedures and improve customer service.
- Exemplify the company’s values during interactions with customers and colleagues.
- Participate in health and safety training, toolbox talks, and proactive safety measures.
- Fulfill any additional operational duties needed to support successful installations.
Candidate Requirements
- Background in construction, roofing, or a related trade.
- Capability to work at heights and outdoors under varying weather conditions.
- Good physical health and a strong commitment to practicing safe work habits.
- Excellent attention to detail, with a commitment to high-quality work.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate well within a team.
- Problem-solving abilities and flexibility to adapt to changing project needs.
- Possession of a full New Zealand Driver’s Licence.
- Valid work visa if applicable.
- Basic understanding of solar installation is advantageous but not required, as training will be provided.

Additional Information
This position may occasionally require travel with possible overnight stays; however, such needs are minimized and fairly rotated among staff.
