About the Role

Join a dynamic team as a Solar Trade Assistant, supporting the installation of rooftop solar systems in residential and commercial settings. This role involves collaborating with electricians, roofers, and project managers to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality installations. Occasional travel and overnight stays may be required, managed fairly to minimize inconvenience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the mounting and wiring of solar panels on rooftops for homes and businesses.
  • Prepare and organize tools and materials needed for installation projects.
  • Support stock management and warehouse activities as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to facilitate smooth project completion.
  • Maintain excellence in workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
  • Accurately complete all required installation documentation and safety records.
  • Uphold proper use of personal protective equipment and contribute to safe working conditions.
  • Communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors, offering constructive feedback to improve processes.
  • Display company values in all customer and team interactions and participate actively in health and safety training.
  • Undertake additional operational tasks essential to successful solar installations.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience in construction, roofing, or similar trade is preferred.
  • Ability to work at heights and outdoors under variable weather conditions.
  • Physically fit with a strong commitment to maintaining safety at all times.
  • Detail-oriented with pride in delivering quality work.
  • Effective communication skills and capability to work well within a team.
  • Problem-solving abilities and adaptability in task execution.
  • Possession of a valid New Zealand Driver’s Licence.
  • Current work visa for applicants where relevant.
  • Basic solar installation knowledge is advantageous but not mandatory, as training will be provided.
