Facilities Engineer

Job Overview

The Facilities Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring uninterrupted and efficient operation of assigned facilities. This position involves diagnosing and resolving advanced technical issues, upholding service excellence, aiding Facilities Managers with budget adherence, generating precise client reports, and overseeing technical teams on-site.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead the technical and commercial aspects of specific projects or project groups.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance activities across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and landscaping systems.
• Review and enforce maintenance schedules, engineering specifications, and workflow processes.
• Enhance the efficiency of service delivery methods.
• Draft technical specifications related to facility equipment and assets.
• Design and apply cost reduction strategies and management control measures.
• Create facility-specific control systems that ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Assess contractor and supplier performances, develop improvement strategies, and ensure their implementation.
• Handle emergency situations and client requests, escalating issues appropriately to the Facilities Manager.
• Supervise internal technical personnel during installations and maintenance tasks.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, or a related discipline.
• Certification such as Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) or equivalent is desirable.
• A minimum of 7 years' experience in facilities management or engineering, including leadership roles.
• Comprehensive experience in client management, budgeting, and delivering services effectively.

Technical Knowledge and Skills

• In-depth understanding of building systems and technical installations.
• Familiarity with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations.
• Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, including reporting skills.
• Applied engineering principles specific to facilities management.
• Expertise in vendor and contractor relationships and management.
• Adept at utilizing technology to streamline operations.
• Possession of a valid UAE Driver’s License.
