Role Purpose
The role involves providing expert technical service and support for Sealed Air's packaging equipment throughout New Zealand. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing installation, servicing, repairs, customer training, and collaboration on audits and proposals to maintain and expand the equipment's operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the installation and commissioning of packaging machinery at client locations.
- Conduct regular maintenance, troubleshoot problems, and perform urgent repairs on packaging equipment.
- Provide training sessions to customers on proper usage and maintenance protocols.
- Partner with the sales team on equipment and material audits, assisting in proposal development and competitive assessments.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all service activities and customer interactions.
- Oversee inventory control of spare parts and maintenance tools within your designated area.
- Adhere strictly to company occupational health and safety guidelines, including risk assessments and safety procedures.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated experience within manufacturing or service sectors, ideally including packaging machinery installation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to work independently and handle flexible work hours and interstate travel.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of packaging materials and equipment is advantageous.
- Qualification as either an A Grade Electrical License holder with robust mechanical skills or a Mechanical Fitter with a restricted electrical license, coupled with readiness to upskill.
