About the Role
As a Solar Electrician with Lightforce Solar, you'll be an integral member of our nationwide installation team. Your focus will include the installation and servicing of grid‑tied solar systems across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. You will collaborate closely with the Hub Manager to guarantee each project is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The position involves hands-on, customer-facing duties crucial to advancing clean energy solutions throughout New Zealand. Occasionally, you may be required to travel for work, though such times are minimized and managed fairly within rotating teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Install electrical components including wiring, switchgear, transformers, solar panels, and mounting hardware for diverse solar power projects.
- Connect and commission inverters, battery storage systems, charge controllers, and other energy storage devices.
- Set up and maintain photovoltaic (PV) systems along with associated equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical documents, and solar system specifications.
- Conduct electrical safety tests ensuring adherence to New Zealand standards and regulations.
- Identify electrical faults, perform repairs, and replace faulty parts as necessary.
- Support warehouse operations, including inventory management, picking, and loading/unloading solar kits.
- Provide actionable feedback to Sales and Customer Service teams to enhance installation quality and customer satisfaction.
- Deliver professional and friendly customer service, proudly representing the Lightforce brand.

- Consistently meet assigned performance targets and support improvements in installation processes.
- Comply fully with all Health, Safety, and Wellbeing policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possession of a full driver’s license.
- NZ Electrical Registration or a NZ Limited Certificate (EWRB) with a commitment to attaining full registration.
- If applicable, hold a current valid work visa.
- Strong technical aptitude coupled with dedication to delivering high-quality work.
- Customer-oriented approach with excellent communication abilities.
- Flexibility to travel and stay away from home as job demands.
- Positive mindset, dependable, and a team player.
- Solar experience is beneficial but not mandatory as training and development opportunities are provided.
