Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer proficient in both Python and Typescript for a remote hourly contract opportunity. This role involves developing and maintaining production-grade applications, leading or assisting in codebase modernization projects, and collaborating with diverse teams to support AI training data processes.

Key Responsibilities

Build and sustain production applications using Python and Typescript.
Manage or support initiatives involving codebase migration, refactoring, and technological upgrades.
Work alongside cross-functional teams to prepare and refine data sets for artificial intelligence training purposes.
Write clean, well-documented code in line with established engineering standards.
Diagnose and solve complex problems spanning both technology stacks.
Engage in peer code reviews to maintain high-quality software standards.
Coordinate effectively with international teams, contributing during shared working hours.

Qualifications and Skills

Demonstrable professional experience in Python and Typescript development within live environments.
Track record of successful codebase migrations, refactors, or modernization efforts.
Knowledge of AI training data workflows or experience in data engineering related to AI.
Exceptional communication abilities suited for remote teamwork.
Thorough understanding of software engineering principles and system design methodologies.
Capability to function well within distributed teams across multiple time zones.
Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.

Compensation and Work Conditions

Hourly pay ranging from $30 to $100.
Workload between 10 to 40 hours per week.
Fully remote position based in Canada.
