Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive safety and risk assessments.

• Collaborate effectively with iwi, hapū, Māori organizations, community groups, and government agencies to build sustainable relationships and support networks.

Candidate Profile

• Fully registered with the Social Workers Registration Board (SWRB) or eligible for imminent registration.
• Holds a recognized qualification in social work.
• Practices with a genuine strengths-based approach to social work.
• Possesses a current, clean New Zealand driver’s license (consideration of historic convictions on a case-by-case basis).
• Demonstrates a strong commitment to partnership working with whānau.
• Preferred but not mandatory: experience in statutory social work, strong communication skills, resilience, cultural competency, and knowledge of tikanga Māori and Pasifika cultures.
• Proficient in documentation and digital tools relevant to case management.
