Role Overview
AWC seeks a creative and highly organised Social Media Content Producer to craft and distribute compelling stories about Australia's wildlife and conservation initiatives. The role involves planning, producing, and enhancing engaging social media materials that raise awareness, expand audiences, and motivate positive action. Collaboration with field teams, creators, partners, and communications colleagues is essential to translate complex conservation narratives into accessible, captivating content tailored for social platforms. Developing partnerships with influencers and creators to broaden outreach is a critical component.
Key Competencies
- Proven track record in creating successful social media and digital content, especially short-form videos.
- Skilled in videography, photography, interviewing, and editing from initial concept to publication.
- Proficiency with content creation and editing software including Adobe Creative Cloud suite, notably Premiere Pro, Lightroom, and Photoshop.
- Experience in managing content calendars across diverse social channels.
- Strong understanding of current social media platforms, audience dynamics, trends, and optimization strategies.
- Ability to organize content shoots, handling logistics and stakeholder coordination.
- Experience collaborating with influencers, creators, journalists, and brand representatives.
- Excellent storytelling, writing, and editing skills to communicate intricate topics engagingly.
- Exceptional organizational skills to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Effective at stakeholder engagement and cultivating productive cross-team relationships.
- Passionate about conservation, Australian wildlife, threatened species, and environmental concerns.
Qualifications and Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Media, Digital Content Production, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- Desirable: Experience capturing content in remote or outdoor settings.
- Desirable: Background in conservation, environmental science, tourism, or purpose-driven organisations.
- Desirable: Familiarity with project management platforms like Monday.com and social media tools such as Meltwater and Meta Business Suite.
