Role Overview
AWC is seeking a creative and strategically oriented Social Media Content Producer to craft compelling stories about Australian wildlife and conservation initiatives. This role involves planning, producing, and refining engaging social media content that raises awareness, expands audiences, and motivates action. The successful candidate will work closely with field staff, creators, partners, and the communications team to translate complex conservation narratives into social-first content. They will also foster connections with key creators and influencers to broaden AWC's reach.
Key Responsibilities
- Create high-impact social media and digital content, with a focus on short-form video.
- Produce content from initial concept through to final publication including videography, photography, interviewing, and editing.
- Use tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Lightroom, and Photoshop effectively.
- Develop and manage content calendars across multiple social channels.
- Apply a deep understanding of social media platforms, content trends, audience behavior, and optimization techniques.
- Coordinate content shoots including logistics and stakeholder management.
- Collaborate with influencers, creators, journalists, and brand ambassadors.
- Craft engaging narratives and write clear, accessible content about complex topics.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
- Engage stakeholders and build productive relationships across diverse teams.
- Demonstrate passion for conservation, Australia's wildlife, threatened species, and environmental issues.
Qualifications and Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Media, Digital Content Production or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience creating content in outdoor or remote settings is advantageous.
- Background in conservation, environmental science, tourism, or purpose-driven organizations is desirable.
- Familiarity with project management tools like Monday.com and social media tools such as Meltwater and Meta Business Suite.
