Vox Media seeks a Social Editor to oversee The Strategist's social media presence, crafting engaging content and cultivating audience growth across multiple platforms. Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the Senior Editor to address all social media and audience engagement needs.
• Create, post, and manage content across platforms including TikTok and Instagram.
• Produce fast-paced video content and regular series tailored for social media consumption.
• Analyze shopping trends and develop original, creative social concepts.
• Write compelling copy and design visuals that embody The Strategist’s tone.
• Work collaboratively with editorial, art, and social teams to plan major launches and promotional events.
• Monitor emerging trends, memes, and conversations relevant to shopping culture.
• Strategize to increase social media engagement and expand audience reach.
• Proactively pitch new ideas, test formats, and enhance story dissemination.

Candidate Profile

• Passionate about shopping and service journalism with keen observation skills.
• Deeply familiar with current online trends, influencers, and shopping-related social voices.
• Strong writing skills; on-camera presence is advantageous.
• Experience growing social media audiences and creating multi-platform social content.

• Data-driven understanding of social media analytics.
• Creative confidence in idea generation and headline writing.

Work Location and Employment Details

This is a permanent, full-time position located in New York, NY, with comprehensive employee benefits. The role is unionized under the collective bargaining agreement with The NewsGuild of New York, CWA Local 31003, AFL-CIO.

Compensation and Equity

The salary range for this position is $79,560 to $85,000 USD annually. Final offer depends on qualifications and experience.
