About the Role

The New York Post Group seeks a strategic and commercially adept Senior Vice President (SVP) of Video Strategy to pioneer and elevate the company's video operations across all media platforms. This role involves crafting and leading an integrated editorial and commercial approach designed to enhance journalism quality, expand viewer base, heighten brand presence, and accelerate revenue generation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a holistic video strategy aligned with the company’s growth goals.
  • Define how video initiatives drive audience acquisition, engagement, subscription uptake, advertising revenue, and brand development.
  • Scout emerging trends and technologies to leverage new opportunities across formats and platforms.
  • Lead strategic planning for content creation, distribution, monetization, and audience engagement specific to video.
  • Manage all video content including long-form programming, short social videos, live streams, breaking news, and original video journalism.
  • Collaborate with editorial leadership to incorporate video seamlessly into newsroom processes while safeguarding editorial integrity and brand consistency.
  • Oversee platform-tailored video strategies for YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, X, and upcoming video platforms in conjunction with social media leadership.
  • Enhance subscriber growth and viewer engagement through data analytics and audience insight-driven content optimization.
  • Partner with commercial departments to maximize video-related revenue through sponsorships, branded content, licensing, franchising, and platform monetization.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing video team fostering innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Establish a data-centric operational culture, utilizing analytics to guide content and business decisions and adapt to market and platform changes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 years of progressive leadership in digital media, broadcasting, streaming, or content organizations.
  • Proven expertise managing large-scale video operations across diverse platforms with a focus on audience growth and revenue creation.
  • In-depth knowledge of news, entertainment, social media, and digital media ecosystems.
  • Experience managing large content budgets and directing sizable teams.
  • History of influencing strategy in collaboration with top-level executives.
  • Preferred experience includes working within major news outlets, digital publishers, streaming services, or media firms and leading both editorial and commercial video projects.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven production workflows and emerging media technologies is a plus.

Compensation and Working Conditions

The role offers a base salary range of $300,000 to $325,000, complemented by annual bonuses and long-term incentives. This position requires on-site work at the Midtown Manhattan office.
