Job description

About the Role

We are collaborating with a fast-expanding private equity-backed technology services firm that is revolutionizing a fragmented industry through strategic acquisitions and operational excellence. The company anticipates its revenue to grow from around $50 million currently to between $150 million and $200 million in the near future. To support this growth, we seek a Senior Vice President of Finance to architect and elevate a top-tier finance organization. This opportunity is unique for a seasoned finance and accounting professional to participate at a crucial growth juncture, lead a comprehensive finance transformation, and position for a CFO role within 2-3 years.

Reporting directly to the Co-Founders, the SVP of Finance will be the chief finance executive responsible for establishing a centralized finance team to underpin an aggressive acquisition plan and scale growth to private equity standards. The ideal candidate will blend deep technical accounting knowledge with exemplary leadership qualities to reinforce discipline, professionalize workflows, deploy scalable systems, and guide an expanding finance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a high-performing finance and accounting team.
  • Evaluate current team skills and implement structural improvements as needed.
  • Recruit and assimilate essential finance staff, including a Senior Accounting Manager.
  • Set benchmarks for accountability, performance, and scalable operational procedures.
  • Oversee the monthly close cycle and consolidated financial reporting spanning multiple entities.
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP standards and best accounting practices.
  • Drive audit preparedness and implement robust internal controls.
  • Liaise with external auditors and accounting consultants.
  • Lead integration of finance functions for newly acquired companies.
  • Standardize accounting policies, reporting frameworks, and workflows across subsidiaries.
  • Centralize finance operations from disparate subsidiaries into a unified corporate structure.
  • Support execution of one to three acquisitions annually, including post-acquisition finance integration.
  • Advise and propel ongoing NetSuite implementation and optimization projects.
  • Champion adoption of accounts payable automation and workflow improvements.
  • Enhance reporting systems, financial transparency, and operational effectiveness.
  • Establish scalable processes to underpin prospective growth.
  • Facilitate transition to new banking partners and management of revolving credit lines.
  • Oversee management of cash, liquidity, and financial control mechanisms.
  • Develop financial reporting for leadership, lenders, and investors.
  • Collaborate closely with executives on financial strategy and organizational performance.
  • Prepare board and investor reports and insights.
  • Serve as a trusted consultant for operational and financial decision support.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification is strongly preferred.
  • At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in accounting and finance.
  • Three to four years of public accounting experience with a top 20 accounting firm.
  • Strong proficiency in technical accounting and financial reporting.
  • Experience managing monthly closing and multi-entity financial consolidations.
  • Background in managing accounting teams in private equity-backed, roll-up, or acquisition-driven environments.
  • Proven ability to build teams, implement processes, and scale finance infrastructure.

Preferred Expertise

  • Experience with NetSuite implementations or ERP transformations.
  • Track record in acquisition integration within a multi-entity corporate setting.
  • Familiarity with lender, board, and investor reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of Qualified Small Business Stock (QSBS) considerations.
